1)1 hour parking (not very near campus) allows 1 class and is not student friendly. It is not condusive to taking 2-3 classes then leaving. Very disruptive and time wasting.

2) There are some very POOR instructors-nonteaching, (read and ask others for help, do homework together, etc. I have the syllabus to prove it) but if they have 10 year, tough. Going to the dept. head- 0 - Multiple tries to see head of ECU - 0-refuses to answer emails, phone calls. Too much attention spent on $ for the

highest educated person for the job
and not enough on the quality of the instructor and the job he/she does. VERY WRONG.

3)Foreign instructors, counselors are fine, if you spend all your time trying to understand them - wrong. You can't learn what you can't hear.

4) VERY IMPORTANT. Stop giving black people a free ride. Classes give assignments in "groups" to let those not working get a free ride and I resent it. I had people who did not do homework or show for class, excuse after excuse, and they received B's and A's. It is a dis-service to the mooching student (drawing my tax dollars and not caring for an education), to the student's that want to learn because a slacker is attached to them, to the instructor - because I feel many would like to teach to the student and fail those not caring but are not allowed to because of administrative policy, and to the community. ? - the community because the quality of graduates is very poor. They can't speak English and have no ethics in the workplace. Lastly to the college. The quality of graduates you are turning out is falling drastically. Our answer is NOT lowing the score and teaching requirements in secondary and upper schools it is by quality teaching.

I attended classes where people showed up in pj's and curlers, slept (head down and snoring), got up numerous times to answer cell phones -even during tests- and nothing was done or said. Why? Perhaps because they were all black.

I would gladly do this in person but the head of ECU and other "highly educated people" refuse even to answer me. I quit ECU and went to another school hoping for quality education. My son was not so lucky. He is sticking it out-struggling with "group projects", instructors who don't teach and can't be understood, and not being able to get to the school by walking less than 1 1/2 miles since parking is so poor.
