I am planning to transfer out of state at the end of my sophomore year, however this is certainly not because St. Ed's isnt awesome (i just want to move out of Austin). St. Edwards is a fabulous liberal arts school that offers a progressive yet well rounded, traditionally founded education. There is not a lot bureaucracy here, and it is very easy to get help and get things done easily at this small campus. The students here are a mixed bag, not easily summarized. The atmosphere is very academic, and most students care about learning and are here to do so. There arent actually a lot of people from Austin here ( i am), since most Austinites go to UT. Austin is great for certain types of people. I have lived here my whole life, and it simply is not my cup of tea. If you love being surrounded by outdoorsy hippie types, this is the place for you. However, if you hate hot, humid weather for six months out of the year, DO NOT move here. Summary: St. Edward's is a great, affordable east coast-style school in a town that couldnt be farther from an east coast vibe.
