Major: Criminal (This Major's Salary over time)
I will be graduating from here this school year. I REALLY wish I would have gone somewhere else. I went here because it was close (at 18, I thought that was important), and I thought Pittsburgh was an interesting, vibrant city…I was so wrong. The school itself is just "okay", classes are too large (even in my upper level major classes), professors are too concerned with their research (MANY classes are taught by grad students), and student support/advising is non-existant (one exception: if you are an athlete—you'll be babied and pampered, heck, you can be a TOTAL MORON and graduate).WARNING!!! If you are not from Pittsburgh DO NOT COME HERE!!! Go to another city—ANY OTHER CITY!!!!This city is DEAD. All they care about our there losing sports teams (hey Pittsburgh, the Steelers have not been relevent since like 1979, give it up), the rent and taxes are extremely high (I have had to work full time for most of my college years—and the pay is lousy), and, living in Oakland, you WILL be mugged and/or assaulted in some way. (If you live off-campus and drive, expect a 45 minute commute to go 10-15 miles! and no where to park when you get here).Given the opportunity, I would have gone out-of-state, which I plan to do for graduate school. Many out-of-state tuitions are actually LESS the Pitt's in-state.
