I have to admit Bowie State University was not my first choice school, not even my second choice school.I just didn't think it was for me. Both academically or socially. I mean if you don't mind going to a school where yes, you have to deal with the immaturity level of some students, and some people's constant struggle to win Mr/Mrs popularity then you would be able to survive. Now don't get me wrong not all of the students are arrogant, I have actually met a lot of intellectual people who are really cook and down to earth that are actually at school to get an education.The upperclassmen in SGA are some of the most influential, and self-motivated people I have met. They are very nice and easy to talk to so that is something definitely worth looking forward to if you decide to come to Bowie. Anyway a lot of the females mainly freshmen, think that they are all of that and some more. Which is definetely not the case, yeah some of them are pretty but they have to realize that they are not the best things walking on campus because there are so many pretty faces at BSU. A lot of the underclassmen females are fake and hate on eachother for no reason, so beware of that. Oh and yes Bowie is a fashion show, I personally don't think any thing is wrong with that because if you have the money then all I have to say is 'do you'. There are definetely a lot of cute guys, especially the football players, but word to the wise don't bother with them because you will definitely get caught up. Also make sure that you are always on top of your game when dealing with the administration because they will find any and every possible way to screw you over, so becareful. When you are picking the residence hall that you want to live in boys don't pick Holmes and girls don't pick the towers, I have heard some really nasty stories about those residence halls, but the best residence hall is Alex Haley so try to get in there before everyone else does. Also the cafeteria food is pretty good but after you will notice that they are serving you the same food over and over again, but it does help when you are hungry and broke.We also have a KFC and a Pizza Hut so if you get tired of the caf's food you can always go there. Oh and there is nothing walking distance from the university don't expect to just get any where if you don't have a car, the MARC train,the Bowie bus, and the metro will be your new best friends.Anyway if you decide to go to BSU just try to make the best of the situation and definitely get involved with the school and it's activities and you will definitely enjoy it. SIT DOWN, UH… YOU'LL NEVER BE A BOWIE BULLDOG,HEY.
