Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
AU is a great school. I did not visit campus before school started and do not regret coming here. However, it did take me a week or so getting used to it, as it is different from my hometown. The academics are interesting and challenging, and they are not too much to handle. This of course varies with what classes you have. The faculty, although liberal, is very good, and professors know their stuff. A lot of class discussions so professors and other students really get to know you. This can be good or bad depending on your personality. There is a lot of beaurocracy in the admin although they do try to help. The campus itself is not too big, but just right for our school population. It definately does not feel overcrowded. The dorms are good quality and roomy, unless you get stuck with two other roommates as such is the case when you pay your enrollment fees late. The food is good. The university does offer good financial aid packages. Most of the students in the Honors Programs get great scholarships. For the most part, students usually get 100% value of outside scholarships if they get financial aid.As far as the student body goes, there are people from literally everywhere in the world. There are all type of personalities, so it is easy to find friends. There is a friendly and helpful atmosphere on campus. The students, for the most part, are smart and confident. A lot of students are motivated while others are clearly not. The student body is politically liberal, and therefore closeminded to conservative views. However, this is common in a lot of universities. The campus is also very political, and both the College Reps. and College Dems. are very active. The majority of the students do tend to be middle or upper-middle class.AU is really involved in the humanities, communications, public affairs, and business to a lesser extent. Do not come here if you are expecting a great science department. Great internships. AU is trying to improve its prestige on the national scale.
