Northeastern University has continually improved academically and structurally since the early 90s, when it shifted focus to a smaller, more selective student body. Increasing support from its alums and corporations has also contributed to well-funded and innovative research programs, as well as better equipped newer facilities. Recent efforts to provide scholarships to merit students through alumni sponsors will also help to drive Northeastern towards its goal of achieving higher national ranking and better recognition among prospective students not already aware of its reputation. As an alumni who obtained both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northeastern, I am pleased to see this positive progress within a relatively short period.
