I think that Morehead State University gets an unfair shake by many students. The city of Morehead is located well within the Daniel Boone National Forest, a thickly wooded enclave in Eastern Kentucky. The area provides numerous opportunities for hiking, fishing, camping, etc. The campus, while small, manages to host many cultural/music/arts events throughout the year. Morehead State is definitely not the right school for someone expecting to coast through without going to classes. The local populace is old-fashioned, but extremely friendly if you get to know them. There is a Townies vs. Students mentality, but it's not that bad. I transferred here from a much larger urban university, and have since raised my grades and started taking college seriously. I think anyone who attends Morehead State should be ready to adapt. If you let it, Morehead State will grow on you and you will greatly enjoy your experience here.
