I was in the military while attending KSU and took off campus and on campus classes. My major was History. The course content was interesting. The campus was not exactly very friendly as I was twice the average student's age, and had to attend most of the courses while in uniform, so I was immediately shunned; probably b/c I represented authority. Lonely, depressing experience and horribly cold winters. Invest in hairspray. While the new library is gorgeous; the History program very good, I found that the Arts & Sciences dept was disorganized - continuously run by students in work/study program who didn't know bupkus when you called there. "Aggieville" was 2 blocks of bars but all the rage of the students - who thought you were "somebody" if you were seen down there - drunk of course. Manhattan Kansas is downright boring. Nothing to do if you don't like to watch the grass grow. And I mean NOTHING! The nearest "cosmo" place to go is Lawrence, KS, and even that town is pretentious. For KSU, the only thing going for the place is the clean air, the first class fitness center, the pool, and from what I heard, the baking and vet school. Obviously, I'm glad I'm "not in Kansas anymore, Toto", but thankful I have my bachelors - it has opened some doors for me job wise.
