Major: Art & Design Department (This Major's Salary over time)
Randolph-Macon is a unique place, full of goofy traditions that instill a sense of timelessness. It has an Honor Code that's taken seriously. It has beautiful campus with romantic architecture and spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. When I was there, the dining hall always had tableclothes and flowers on the tables, which is one of the small touches that make Randolph-Macon feel like home. There's art in the hallways, too, and the Maier Museum of Art is a treasure of truly quality pieces. Academically, my experience was good. I enjoyed most all of my classes, and the professors are really there to teach, which is important. Socially, Randolph-Macon was fun, believe it or not. The boys might not be there in class, but there's the possibility for interaction with quite a variety of males: Hampden-Sydney, VMI, W&L, UVA, Virginia Tech, Lynchburg College, and Liberty, plus the occassional local Lynchburger, etc. In any case, you pretty much will have to go to the boys, so a car is handy- or at least a friend with a car. You will learn a lot from these adventures, and the female bonding you experience in the car getting there is priceless. During your junior year, go abroad. The Reading program is great.
