He cares more about Educational Quality than the average student.
Date: Oct 28 2004
Major: Economics (This Major's Salary over time)
The economics department is very small, the professors teach the same courses every year, and there is little focus on applied learning. Most classes aren't very difficult; I got a 3.5 cumulative GPA without really putting in any effort at all. Intro and elective classes are weighed down by business majors and football players who don't care about education.

Classes are small Professors are friendly and approachable, and there's a good deal of student input into both academic and non-academic aspects of campus life.

However, the elective system is neat in that it offers credit for a wide variety of courses and rewards students who experiment. The "inquiry seminar" setup is similarly clever January travel programs are strong, if expensive. The library is very nice, and the campus is gorgeous. It is possible to walk from one end of campus to the other in no more than fifteen minutes.

Outside of class, there's a strong focus on fraternities, and too many students do nothing during the weekends but drink alcohol. The student body is somewhat conservative, although the usual liberal whackiness is still present. McMinnville is a nice place to eat lunch, but there's nothing to do after dark, and there's no reliable way to get out of town without a car.

The football team tends to do well. Other sports are also pretty good.
