Date: Nov 02 2004 Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time) Although SC has always had YMCA ties in 1970 there was little or no cross marketing between the college and the YMCAs. I was ill prepared by the college to go into the YMCA despite the fact that it was my declared major. My advisor and her staff fellows did everything in their power to push us towards urban social work; and my one semester field assignment was mishandled/misguided accordingly. I complained bitterly for several years (after graduating)about this and I can only hope that SC has stronger ties to the YMCA than it did in 1970.On a positive note the students were friendly, the campus pleasant (especially when the leaves were on the trees), and the school did what it could to keep students on campus on weekends. I would recommend SC only to those who focus on SC's strongest majors.
