For whatever reason, alot of people are coming to OU because its prestige has supposedly risen over the past decade or so - WTF???? LOLMy opinion? OU is OK… and that's it!The damn frats are everywhere and that just drives me up the wall. The instructors are tolerable… some are awesome, while others seem like they don't even care about the students. This is a conservative school through-and-through. Don't expect people to be accepting of you if you are gay, black, Asian, or otherwise different. The peeps here seem like they were all rejects from the HS football team or cheerleading squad. Norman as a city sucks… the only things to do here involve the frats here on campus. Oh, and the campus is infested with drugs and sex freaks. OKC is just a few minutes away, and good for clubs and other stuff to do, but don't leave the comforts of Houston or New Orleans for this state. Trust me, I grew up in Oklahoma, and I have visited other larger cities, LOL!The academics seem to be okay, and OU seems to have cutting-edge coursework. The administration is awful, though!!! Ask them to pick up a paperclip from the floor and they'll have it done in about 6 to 8 weeks after getting Congressional approval.I would not recommend anybody going here. Oklahoma State is better academically, but not that great of a college itself. If you can't go for the hardcore Ivy-Leagues, and would still like to stay in this party of the country, I would suggest looking into Tulane in Louisiana or one of the many superb schools in Texas.I will not be attending Grad school here, and if I could do it again, I would not have pursued my Undergrad degree here.
