Bryn Mawr is an amazing place. It may be easier to get into than Harvard, but you will get an absolute top-notch education here. You will get a superior education and constantly be impressed by your peers.

There is so much personal attention here. When there is any kind of problem, administrators treat you like a person instead of a number. Professors really care that you are learning, and they are some of the most brilliant people and talented instructors I have ever come across.

The campus is beautiful, and Philly—which is a totally awesome city with tons of students and more colleges than Boston—is very accessible.

One of the best things about Bryn Mawr is the "Quaker Consortium." Going to an all women's college is empowering and academically ideal (you might shake your head, but trust me), but I might go crazy without the consortium. Fortunately, I spend half my time at Haverford (one mile away; we have one course catalog, one school newspaper, and many extracurriculars are "BiCollege"). Many people also take classes at Swarthmore and Penn. Coming to Bryn Mawr is joining a fantastic academic community.

In many ways, it is the best of both worlds: The personal attention of a small school with the resources and the options of a large university (thanks to the consortium). A beautiful campus with a vibrant city close by. An all-women's school with plenty of men within walking distance (if that's your thing).

This place is extremely intense, and you should know that there is no such thing as slacking off and "getting by" here. You never knew you had to work so hard just to get a B, but you'll push yourself farther than you knew you could go and be damn proud when you're done. If your number one priority is getting an amazing education in a personalized and nurturing environment (of very liberal, often quirky students), then Bryn Mawr is the place for you.

It was a safety school for me, but I cannot imagine having picked a more perfect school, or a school that would have provided me with so many opportunities.
