People will tell you this school is perfect for you if your creative or an individual. I was far more creative and individualistic than th emajority of the people who went here and I hated it. Its like a year of my life has been forever sucked away by a freindly, yet sleazy administration and a downright evil student body.

Thankfully Im transfered out of this fetid dump now and I want to warn people about it. If you do not like cliques dont go here, if you are not the best at making friends dont go here, and if you dont like cold self riteous people dont go here. The place is so ugly and under budget that simply living there will depress you and god help you if your cry out for help, as the student body is literally the spawn of satan. For all the talk about supporting individualism they really only mean as long as your an individual just like them.

There were good things, a few people are really nice, the faculty is filled with unique characters and smart folks, but certain departments are very lacking. The surrounding area is ok and would be better if everyone wasnt such an uptight emo loser (that goes for the other nearby colleges as well).

Even though I hate PCism as a bisexual and biracial person the attitude is ok to who you are, put if you dont tote chairman Mao's party line theyll hate you for deviating from how they feel people of your background should think (being opressed and all) which is kind of racist in its own way.

Although there are some people Im glad I met there overall the education was merely ok while the overall attitude is unhealthy and cold. Only go if you get along with pretencious aristocrats who use drugs really well.

I did learn alot from Hampshire but only because I delved further into my own passions and interests to escape from it, not because it itself did anything for me. Also keep in mind I really really wanted to go here and applied early descision and everything so I really wanted to like and I really tried, but in the longrun that just dissapointed me more and made me hate it all the more.

Just wanted to say that I agree with you. I'm transferring out of Hampshire (only one week left!) and I couldn't be happier. Hampshire has sucked the life out of me and has ruined the past two years of my life.
I'm going to be completely fucked at my new institution, but it's better than staying here.
