Brandeis is a very welcoming community with top notch academics. The opportunities that are available with professors are yards beyond other elite Universities. I have many friends at other schools of equal and higher ranking, all of whom claim not to have near the accessability to their professors, or the research opportunities that are present at Brandeis. It is not uncommon for undergraduates to be offered research positions; something that is unheard of at most schools. The students at Brandeis are far kinder than at most schools, and most people have a genuine interest in academic accomplishments and success. The social atmosphere is definitely exists, but you have to help yourself, because it won't land on your doorstep. All the same, socialization can, and is great if you are outgoing. Brandeis is an incredibly enjoyable place to be. Although it initially was nto my first choice school, I can't imagine attending any other University. I would encourage anyone who is willing to be challenged in college to apply to and attend Brandeis
