Saint Olaf has a horrible social scene.  If you consider yourself a wholesome person please apply!  If you don't, go elsewhere.  People are afraid to speak out and cling far too tightly to their religion.  Some students seem embittered about not getting into their first choice school, but really, these students that seem to complain so much are not as talented as they try to come across.  Students are excessively uptight and need to loosen up.  Some have forgotten this is COLLEGE and not the military.  Students go to bed too early and have no idea how to party.  Bars are the only place to go which presents many problems if you're underage.  JCs are ridiculous.  This college needs to provide a less homely environment and should stop pandering to the first year students.  Although the leap to college shouldn't be harsh students don't need babysitters.  Hardly any of the students listen to good music.  The obessesion with classical music gets old quickly and those that listen to jazz fear the abstract side of the genre.  The requirements are far too strict for a liberal arts atmosphere.  Forcing students to take classes to fill GEs decreases GPA and doesn't necessarily spawn new interests.  Also, the dorms are really sad.  The rooms are small and most of the dorms do not have adequate places to study.
