Since the Community College of Allegheny County North Campus was not listed, I am writing this review under the community college's main campus. My overall experience of North Campus has been a positve one. The faculty has been rather accessible and helpful with the exception of one of my teachers who just didn't seem to like students asking questions. The math department is tremendous, and I can honestly say my math skills have increased due to the teaching style of my professor. The speaking and writing classes have also helped me develope. There are all different types of clubs on campus which allow you to grow as a person. I am in Seekers, the Christian fellowship club on campus; and I can say that it has really strengthened my faith. Also, another note about this college is that they offer a full scholarship to those who have graduated in the top 5% of their class and a half payed scholarship to those in the top 10% of their high school's graduating class. My suggestion for those who have done well in high school is to take advantage of this for a year or so and then transfer to a 4-year school. Yet one more point is the fact that from this two year college, one can still transfer into an elite school. After speaking from a school official, I found out that some, although it is rare, will transfer to an Ivy League institution. I am looking to trnafer to a top liberal arts college and believe that the academics at the Community College of Allegheny County North Campus had more than prepared me to do so.
