All comments and ratings are based on the Western Campus only (Parma), based on word of mouth, the Metro Campus (Cleveland) experience differs greatly…First and foremost, if you plan to attend Tri-C you have to keep in mind that this *IS* a community college so it is only fair to compare it to other community colleges I have attended, not four year universities. That being said, this was a great experience compared to the other junior colleges. Most attending here seemed to have an upbeat "I'm saving money before attending my 4 year" attitude as opposed to the depressed and defeated "this is my last chance" attitude that I found at most community colleges.Post associates, I was also pleasantly surprised that the majority of my credits transferred quite smoothly to great area schools such as Baldwin Wallace, Kent State, and University of Akron (only needed 51 credit hours to complete BA in business administration at BW). This was a welcomed relief because I had previously heard nightmare stories from other people on how the majority of their community credits WOULD NOT transfer anywhere else.Three negatives to be aware of: 1. For reasons that will become obvious to anyone after a few weeks, this place developed the nickname "Tri-High", mainly because it still has that high school feel to it. Cliques still exist here, so expect to see the Abercrombie clones, snobettes, rich kids, and former high school cool kids still living in their past glory.2. Though the health profession programs are great and some are one of a kind in terms of community colleges, they are so renowned that most are developing a considerable waiting list(it's taking some people 3 1/2 years to get their associates degree. This is also due in large part to area schools such as Kent and Akron taking a lot of clinical spots in the Cleveland area…It would be nice if they could find their own.3. The admission process was TERRIBLE. I felt like I was running from point A to point D, to point B and back to point A, only to revisit point D all over again because someone failed to tell me that I had missed a step. I recommend that a new student first visit the "customer service desk in the galleria and ask them everything you will need to do first. Also, don't expect an appointment with a counselor unless you are ready to wait a good 2-3 weeks!!!!All in all, good community college!
