I love the atmosphere at HPU. I'm actually studying in the pre-med program, so most of my classes are on the windward campus. Even though HPU is a private school with a "high" tuition rate, it's worth coming here because of the smaller class size. At the University of Hawaii, the class sizes are huge, you're just a number, and the professors couldn't care much about you. This hurts you if you want to go to grad school and get a letter or recommendation. At HPU, the instructors are approachable, and I think of them as good friends. Some of the instructors I have are also lab instructors. It's very easy for me to ask my instructors about homework from both my lecture and lab section. The downside to HPU is the limited resources, such as the variety of clubs, intramural sports, the downtown campus (filled with bums and freaks at times) and riding the campus shuttle to and from the windward campus. All in all, I love it here in paradise.
