Date: Feb 18 2005 Major: Religion/Religious (This Major's Salary over time) I was very pleased with my education at Bard. Keep in mind that I graduated over 10 years ago—Bard has changed a lot since then, and I doubt I would have been able to get in now with the poor grades I had in high school. I went back to visit one of my old professors two years ago, and I was amazed by how much the school had changed. When I was there, our student center was a ratty old gym. Now Bard has a new fancy student center. And that's not to mention the new Frank Gehry building on campus. Although Leon (the president) was never one of my favorite people, there's no doubt he knows how to schmooze with donors. Bard took a chance on me when no other college accepted me, and I think it worked out very well for both parties. I graduated from Bard with a double major in Religion and Philosophy and a 3.9 GPA. I found that the professors at Bard were great, and if anything, starved for serious students. For that reason, I got lots of individual attention from some world-class scholars. After Bard I enrolled in graduate school at the University of Chicago, where I will be completing my Ph.D. this year. I'd love to go back and teach at Bard, if I could get the chance.
