Hello! I study Law in Venenzuela, I have a class at which the professor uses the socratic method, I love it. The problem is Ihave a written test tomorrowand I am not sure what is the best way to answer these type of questins in written. |
Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
I loved the faculty and the Socratic method of learning employed in my classes. One-on-one attention was a given. Due to the small class size, I felt that I got plenty of attention from my professors and from the administration. The film school is very cool! I was able to write/direct/produce each one of my six short films. Everybody knows you after a few months and you feel safe on the pristine and gated campus. I must say that there is no slacking off on homework or attendance since you are graded down for missing a class and you MUST do you homework on time since the classes are so small. Class sizes range from 10 to 16 students in most cases, so if you don't do your reading you are totally busted when the professor calls on you.Loyola Marymount is like a friendly country club, but with a somewhat diverse racial mix of mainly upper middle class and well-to-do students from all races and beliefs. By no means do you have to be Catholic—not at all. I am a non-religious, left-winger artist. If you are looking for vast socioeconomic diversity, like at a state university Campus, you won't necessarily find it on the private & costly Loyola Marymount University campus. Loyola students—a bit homogenous—seem to be friendly and rather polite for the most part. If you are looking for a Film School where you can MAKE LOTS OF FILMS, this is the place. You are allowed to Write, Direct, DP, Produce, and Edit each one of your films without being forced onto teams. It's totally cool!! Experimentation is encouraged. You have more freedom in this film school. But be warned that this is not the biggest school in the city so you must make your own mark and make as many contacts as you possibly can so that upon graduation you are not wishing you went to a bigger school where networking comes easier. Networking may be easier at other schools upon graduation, but you will have come away with a higher quality education and more hands on experience than most other schools. Check it out and ask the tough questions.
