Tarleton is a great school that continues to grow and improve every year. The instructors here care about their students and are helpful outside the classroom. The CIS department, for example, is nationally ranked, and the agricultural program is one of the biggest in the country. The campus is nice (despite all the construction), and is very safe. It's not a very big campus, so walking to almost anywhere on campus isn't a problem. New buildings and facilites are constantly being built. Right now they're building a new math building and remodeling the library, and soon they'll build a rec center, a new dining hall, and more dorms. The student's here, for the most part, are very friendly and outgoing, and tend to be sexually active (so be careful, or you could catch something). As far as the social scene goes, it's what you make of it. If you make the effort to meet new people and make friends, you can have a good social life. If you just stay in your dorm room and don't talk to anybody, you won't. There are many organizations that you could (and should at some point) get involved in to help you meet people (including fraternities/sororities, if you're interested in those). The only bad things about Tarleton, in my opinion, are the lack of parking on weekdays, and the city itself. Stephenville is in a dry county (so you have to drive 25 miles or more to buy any alcohol) and will take some getting used to if you're from a big city (so if you REALLY don't like living in a rural area, you may want to reconsider going here). Overall, Tarleton is a great school that deserves a lot more credit than it is given.
