It was very hard to find a job in my field(Biology/Chemistry)after graduation. It took me 4 years and I even had work related experience. I have found in the real world that it doesn't matter what school you go to but how well you did and the skills you leave with. I think in 1980-1984 Scholastica was weak in providing the skills needed to swim in the real world. More career development experiences and real hands on experiences would have been helpful. The Direct Action Project (DAP) we had helped some but certainly not enough. I wanted a private catholic college close to home and Scholastica fit the bill. It is the only school I applied to and enjoyed being there. I developed many friendships and the enviroment suited my needs. The guy to girl ratio was 3 girls for every guy. That was a bit difficult at times but not the reason to not pick a school. We had alot of dances and social events so I thought the amount of activities and fun was fine. UMD is so close you could always go over there for a change of pace which we did.

I recommend that students try very hard to get good grades no matter what school they go to and to find opportunities to get as much experience as possible. Scholastica had small class sizes and that was important to me. I have since taken classes at UMD with over 100 kids and I am a number. I tend not to do as well in those kinds of settings. It is up to the indivual to pick a school they like and what they want from it. College is not cheap so make the most of it from the begining and have fun too.
