If you don't care much about the beach, clubbing or Spanish people, don't come here. Everyone you'll meet who attends this school is a freaking idiot; the people they use to bring up the SAT score are usually in their rooms all the time. UM is very biased toward anything having to do with Latin America, and all other programs suffer because of it. Any language program you can take here (of which there is an extremely poor selection) is downright neglected. Recently they dissolved the International Studies department and added the resources to the Latin American Studies department.

That having been said, if you like hanging around self-absorbed BMW-driving clubbing people who listen to hip hop and just want to slack off your whole college career, this is the perfect place! Classes are all easy as hell and the only way you can challenge yourself is to go somewhere else.
