It appears this student had a challenging experience at the University of Maryland - College Park. Their review highlights concerns about the size of the school, the behavior of some undergraduates, safety issues, and a perception of being treated best place to buy diamond rings like a number. It's crucial to consider individual preferences and priorities when choosing a university. |
Major: Economics (This Major's Salary over time)
This school treats you like a number, the professors aren't helpful one bit. It is way too big to feel like an individual. If you're out of state, get used to the tuition which goes up here every year. For the negatives: A lot of undergrads are immature and loud, undergrads who really don't care about their education. They care about looking attractive, getting drunk, and going to parties. The school is literally a broken down mess. The surronding city of College Park is a horrific ghetto, people say that D.C. is bad, well they never been to College Park. In College Park, in the city and on the campus you have to watch out for yourself since thugs are out to mug and rob you in broad daylight. Safety is almost nonexistant here. Here's an example: The one positive here is that the quality of education here is good though. However if you're looking for a safer school with less obnoxious undergrads and that treats you like an individual, look elsewhere. That's my opinion.
