Major: Math (This Major's Salary over time)
This is my second year at Alfred State and I just have a few comments to make. If you are planning to come to Alfred for Electrical Engineering, Architecture or any other technology biased major, then great. Alfred is a great school for technology or if you know exactly what you want to be doing in four years. I love the fact that it’s a smaller campus because I see friends wherever I go. The teachers remember your name and the classes are fairly small. I’ve never felt like a number here. For the most part I’ve had pretty good teachers. The math department is a little sketchy, so ask around because each teacher has a different style of teaching. On the down side, it’s in the middle of nowhere! There is nothing to do here except party and drink. It literally takes 10 seconds to drive through the town and there isn’t anything to do there except eat DP dough and buy liquor. Social life involves going to the frats and drinking in the dorms, and even that gets boring after awhile. Many people get caught up in the drinking and drop out or get kicked out because of grades by the second semester. With the exception of my friends, if I had the chance to come here allover again, I probably wouldn’t. Word to the wise… Unless you are coming from a small town, beware of boredom!
