Date: Apr 21 2005 Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time) Marquette is a terrible school. The students are awful, the administration is awful, and the "reputation" doesn't get you anywhere. I ended up with a job making 25K out of school, working with a bunch of UWM grads and kids that never even went to college. Don't think I didn't bust my ass looking for a job either. Milwaukee is just a bad city altogether. I can't wait to leave. Everyone acts like Marquette has some sort of great "reputation" in milwaukee and that your degree will get you some great job when you get out of school. The only thing it will get you is hard looks from anyone normal because they will assume that you are some rich stuck-up "marquette kid." The school can't afford to keep the dorms from falling apart, the cafeteria food is terrible, the homeless people that literally SURROUND the school rob and rape (not exaggerating) students on a consistent basis, yet the administration will blow $12 million on a new place for the men's basketball team to practice at. And $74 million on a new library that can hold about 200 kids before you are all wandering around looking for somewhere to sit down. Don't waste your time or money going here unless you are oblivious to everything around you. If you are, then you will blend right in with about 70% of the student body. Those that are realistic would be better served by a real school in a real city.
