I can't imagine being at any other college. Honestly, my experience here has been phenominal. The people are some of the nicest people I've ever met, and everyone is very open to new ideas and meeting new people. The classes vary depending on professors: I've had amazing ones and I've had truly horrendous ones. Ratemyprofessors.com was my bible when it came to spring registration, and for the most part, I have not been let down. I have discovered that the subject that was the easiest for me in high school now requires me to work for my grades, and I'm glad I learned this now rather than 4 years down the line. The social life…it depends on what you're looking for. I don't drink, and one of the great things about W&M is that there is no pressure to drink. I have been asked many times at parties if I wanted anything, and as soon as I say no, people just respond with a "That's cool" and ask the next person. I have never had a problem finding something to do, whether it be a dance party, a pong game, or just hanging out and watching movies. You find things to do. Tribetonight, the unoffical campus nightlife screenname, is really good with giving you options for your weekend.Get involved with as many different clubs as you can. It's the best way to meet people. I'm in the swing and ballroom dance clubs, so I know the dancers. I'm in FCA, so I know the Christians AND the athletes. I've been in a few minor theater productions, so I know the actors. I plan on rushing in the fall, so I'll be meeting sorority girls and frat boys (although you don't NEED to rush to go to the parties…I've been to a bunch, and know a ton of frat brothers even without being Greek). The people on your hall will become your closest friends, and generally the people you meet during orientation. Get phone numbers and screennames from people so you can stay in touch with them.
