Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
Due to large size of U of T it is easy to get lost in the crowd both socially and academically. However, it is pretty easy to establish a relationship with profs (at least in Eng. dept.) if you are engaged with material and class discussion. U of T was by no means a first choice for me—transferred here because I moved to the city & it has a good rep. I am uninterested in campus life & getting to know people. I was pleasantly surprised by the good classes (maybe I got lucky?), great, approachable profs, and intelligent & challenging material. I find it easy to participate in classes. It is nice to have my own social life entirely separate from school. U of T is great for someone like me. If you want a small, close-knit community where everyone knows you, profs give you lots of attention, etc. it might not be the place for you. If you enjoy being fairly self-sufficient it is great. Plus, campus is beautiful & the libraries are good.
