I came into tech with a charicature of what the school was like. I imagined malevolent professors teaching a meaningless lecture with no care about the student's understanding and then returning to their office to either begin research or simply glory in the hardship of their students. No in my fourth semester, my actual experience with teachers has been usually pleasant. Every teacher I have had has sincerely tried to teach the material and tries to answers any question. The only exception has been a visiting professor with a very terrible accent, and even he tried to teach the material. However, every engineering and science class is taught from an overwhelmingly mathematical angle. Many of the complainers are left in the dust by this type of lecture. But if one doesn't want this type of lecture, why is he or she at Tech in the first place.

The best way I can summarize life at Tech is this: expect to grow up quickly. Most experiences at State universities entails partying hard, working at your classes off and on and eventually taking classes seriously maybe sophmore or junior year. Here, classes will spit you out the first test if you take that approach. As far as campus life, it's rought the first year. Girls aren't exactly growing on trees here and the dorms pretty much suck, not to mention the food. However, once you find some people to hang out with(which hopefully you will), life becomes easier and more tolerable. Co-oping is a great program and any business, especially any in the Atlanta area, will appreciate the difficulty of Tech. So yeah, I would say come here can handle mathematics(I'd say a minimum of a 4 or 5 on the AP Calc) and appreciate a good education.

PS. Don't take PYCH(now GT) 1000. It's an absolutely pointless waste of time.
