you need to realize before you go here that alfred is in the middle of nowhere, and your enjoyment of the surrounding area depends on your level of maturity.  alot of people give alfred horrible reviews for social life and surrounding city, but they fail to consider those who dont want to be in a bustling town or metropolitan environment, surrounded by drunken students.  to get a better look at a more mature “social life” viewpoint also look at what students from alfred university say.  literally the school is across the street so there is no bias as to what part of town theyre in.  in fact, the university now has a building on ASC property.  If you want to drink until you fall down on the street, consider a different school.  if you want to drink and fall down onto some grass, alfred is a good place to be.  the education is extremely good if you dont coast over classes, and it does depend alot on your major.

I was planning on attending ALfred State this fall. I live in a farm land area and dont want to be in a huge city. I am germophobic and dont want to have to stay in dorms that are filthy dirty. How are the ALfred State dorms? Also is it true that eveyone just gets drunk all the time...I dont drink and dont like to hear parting all night. Should I go to Alfred or find somewhere else?
