My experience at Montserrat was invaluable. The faculty invested in me as an artist and a person and I was challenged in every possible way to be conscious of the decisions I made and the work I created. I've made friends and connections that still are a vital part of my life. If you are an artist, you have to invest in an art education - don't cheat yourself into believing a liberal arts ed will suffice. And you won't get the attention at a big, impersonal college that you will at a community like Montserrat.
