How were you able to choose between UCF or FSU? |
Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
The school is better than its reputation honestly. The school is forever growing giving it the nickname UCF (Under Construction Forever). There are always new buildings being built on the large campus. The campus itself is very pretty, clean, and pretty safe. I have no problem walking around at all hours of the night and worrying about being safe. Parking is a hassle. Seriously, if you want a parking spot, arrive early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Times from 9am-4pm will have very few parking spaces. Living on campus your first year is a huge plus since you won't have to kill others for parking. Most people are friendly here, though I can't say there is too much diversity. I'm half asian, and the vast population is white. Most everyone comes from areas around Florida. As a matter of fact, I was the only person at my orientation group that came from another country. Faculty is decent. Most know their stuff. Some are bad, some are good. Most are just in general nice people. The surrounding city is decent. It's not located in downtown Orlando and most the area around here supports the college life. Basic shopping areas are within 10-15 minutes from campus, though without a car, you're kinda stuck.Classes are decent and range in size from 20 people to 500. It's really up to you to come to class, though SOME Of the teachers in the huge lecture halls are still crazy and take roll. To make our lives miserable? Maybe. Social life is abundant. Parties go on all days of the week and the campus is hardly there on the weekend since most everyone is out at someone's party. You'll always find something to do. All in all, I would strongly suggest if you're interested to come. I chose UCF over FSU and was very glad I did once I arrived. It's been a pretty positive thing so far for me.
