I'm going to be completely honest in this review because I know that a lot of prospective students put a lot of emphasis on these reviews. In high school I was a good student. I got good grades (As and Bs) without trying and could have received straight As if I put forth more effort. I could have and SHOULD HAVE gone to a better school than KSU, but I bombed my SATs which kept me from getting into the other universities I wanted to get into. I applied to KSU as a back-up and ended up going straight out of high school. Kennesaw really is like HIGH SCHOOL PART TWO. I really regret coming to Kennesaw straight out of high school. IF YOU CAN GO TO ANOTHER SCHOOL, PLEASE GO. I would listen to stories about my other friends' experiences who went to other universities and was always jealous because Kennesaw was so disappointing for me. Most people at KSU hang out with their friends from high school which makes it very difficult to make new friends. Kennesaw does NOT provide a "college experience." There is very little campus life or social scene here, trust me. Kennesaw completely empties out after Thursday's classes. There is one frat I believe and maybe one or two sororities… but I wasn't even interested in joining because they were so LAME. I'm not even being bitter. I'm a bubbly/friendly girl who wanted to rush before attending KSU. Anyway, when there IS something going on campus-wise, students don't even want to participate. AGAIN, there is very little social scene here. People walk around like zombies with a "get in, get out" or "get in, transfer out" attitude. IT SUCKS. it also sucks that so many OLD people go here. im sick of sitting next to "my parents" in class.

I've had my share of good and bad teachers. I've had more good teachers than bad ones (I think I've only had one or two teachers I didn't like and I'm a junior), but I think that's because I hand picked them based off reviews on pickaprof.com. In my experience, teachers know their stuff. They have also been readily assessible to me and they're always willing to e-mail back and forth with you or give you extra help if you need it. I have no complains about the teachers really, so that's one positive. most of the faculty is very nice/approachable… EXCEPT for the people in financial aid. they treat you like a number and really dont care about your problem/situation… ive been screwed over about three times by financial aid.

The campus is okay… not the most beautiful one ive ever seen, but its nice and kept up. It's not very big, although they're trying to expand (They've recently built a nice gym and just finished new dorms a few months ago…). I can only see more expansion in the future as KSU IS the third biggest university in the state of Georgia, which is a good thing. I'm glad they realize how large they're getting and are willing to expand. The campus is also well kept up. KSU has been a commuter school for YEARS. theyre trying to get rid of that label by building new dorms… which is good, but MOST students (I would say 80%) still commute to kennesaw every morning/day/whatever. this is evident in the the horrible parking situation. Lately Ive been parking at a church in the back of the university because there isn't enough parking (and I get to school at NINE IN THE MORNING on average). there have been days when Ive been 30 mins late to class trying to find a parking spot.

theres no FOOTBALL TEAM HERE. being a girl who loves college football, it was disappointing to me and really takes away from the fall season. BUT the baseball team is amazing, so is the girls' soccer team, and our basketball team. even so, there isnt much school spirit here at all… it's sad, really, because the sports teams we do have are pretty great.

kennesaw is a good school to go to if you just want to get in and out and already have friends to hang out with. also, we have a great education program and a GREAT nursing program if thats your thing. as for me, ksu isnt for me. im very social, spirited, eager to meet new people and want to live in a college atmosphere. i regret spending two years here and i cant wait to transfer out to UNC chapel hill.
