Date: Sep 04 2005 Major: Electrical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time) In my opinion, EE programs are all pretty comparable at the undergrad level. They all start out with basic circuit, system theory and then applications such as communication system. There is nothing at MIT that you wouldn't be able to take here at UMD. That being said, the quality of students here at UMD vary widely. There are some supersmart kids here but there are also kids that aren't that bright. As a result, UMD's EE program is highly flexible, perhap too flexible. You can actually get a EE degree here without taking any real EE courses like commuication system, DSP, control etc. For the highly motivated, if you always seek out the tough course, the quality of the program is comparable to any top notch program in the country.
