It seems to me that most of the problems people complain about on here aren't unique to Auburn, so the best way of summing up my experience here is: you get out of it what you put into it. If you're a fabulously outgoing person, then sure, you'll find your niche somewhere in a campus organization. If you're not, then it's going to be a little harder - I'm a senior and I don't belong to any organizations, and it's not for a lack of trying, but it's just not my scene. I also don't really care about the nightlife here because I'm here for an education, not to see how many brain cells I could possibly kill in four or so years. From what I hear, people are able to occupy themselves just fine. The bottom line is that the graphic design program here is the best in the Southeast, with caring professors who push you to do your best and an incredible sense of camaraderie and friendly competition amongst your fellow students. There's a lot of other crap going on around you - the Lowder/Trustee Board mess, getting put on probation by SACS, stupid fraternities getting themselves kicked off of campus, and so on, but it's par for the course when you pack over 20,000 people in such a tiny space. If you just tune it out, work hard, and have fun, you're golden.
