Beware - if you are even slightly liberal, if you listen to the othersides opinion, if you believe in a give and take of ideologies, if you believe that there are some things we aren't meant to understand about God (or have a concrete belief created about it) then this is not the school for you. The community on campus is very friendly and mostly welcoming, but there is a vapid, shallow air about everything that happens at Sterling. It's as if nothing negative will exist if the administration tells us so. The faculty, however, is top notch. I have recently transferred out of Sterling because a Prof. that I admired and respected left. The Prof.'s at Sterling really care about your education, and will pour all their time and effort into bettering their students. Their homes are open, their offices are open, and generally they are a lot more progressive than the College or the administration of the College. Come to Sterling prepared for isolation and a lot of time for contemplation, seek out the faculty that will challenge you to go deeper and you'll graduate with a degree that might actually be worth something. Don't come if you're looking for a progressive, thoughtful and world changing campus community.
