As someone interested in religion, I was attracted to the program's committment in teaching the world's religions

without doctrinal bias

After one or two classes, I came to understand that that statement is nothing but a farce as the faculty tries to inculcate you with their sublimated Christian doctrines.

The curriculum is hopeless antiquated and it relies on theorists such as Tillich, Otto, and Eliade, while eschewing the incorporation of any other academic disciplines… and it shows. The faculty can preach pretty well by drawing on some special gnosis that no one else but they seem to be privy to. However, when a student asks a question that shows any inconsistencies, you can watch them quiver and disguise their ignorance of the matter by referring to the tired old formulaic explanation. God is mysterious.

When pressed, they get angry, mark you down as the trouble maker, then spread the word to the rest of the faculty to insure a miserable time for you. I am so glad I am getting out of here.
