I came to FIU after transferring out of George Washington U in Washington, DC. We needed someplace cheaper (I met my husband there at GWU) and some place that we liked better. We grew to hate GWU. I thought that FIU was just another public university at first. I was a psychology major there, and took many education classes in the college of education as well. I was wrong. I had the most caring professors there. Sure, some weren't that great, but others were top notch and really knew their field. If you are really driven to succeed, you will do well. If you want someone to baby you, forget it. If you work it, you can do really well and get a lot out of your time there. I found the library really great compared to GWU, believe it or not. Right now I have a temp job as I'm raising small children, but I graduated with a psych degree with only 3 classes left to a teaching certification. It did me well.
