Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
Tech's a pretty good place overall. I seem to be the only reviewer to be in the STC program (scientific and technical communications). It's the program dis-illusioned engineers and CS majors end up in. I came to Tech wanting to be an engineer, everything I had done in high school and before had me pretty much in a bee-line for engineering, but it took me about 7 weeks to realize that I wasn't actually going to learn anything for the next 4 years in engineering. I was going to spend 4 years
learning how to think
as one of the advisors put it during orientation. Nothing against the school, Tech may be better than some in that respect coughUofMcough. It was nice to have something to fall back on when I realized I no longer wanted to be an engineer. Tech is one of the greatest places to study STC, and STC is a great program. It's basically liberal arts, but more useful in the real world. It's wide open, so I can get an STC major with a concentration in politics / economics / business and a minor in CS.

If you're really pretty intelligent, Tech now has the honors institute set up. You won't find this on Tech's website, but it exists. I can't say it's one of the best honors programs around, since there is exactly one honors class you take, and it's not really set up like any other honors college I've ever heard of, but that and the research scholars program are here for those of us who are at tech as a fall-back school.
