Major: Education (This Major's Salary over time)
I have had both positive and negative experiences with Roger Williams. Some of the students who attend the university (I have noticed it more with the recent incoming students) can be somewhat snooty and forward. However, overall I have had an extremely positive experience with the students here. By being involved in different campus activities, I have met many people who I consider my life long friends. Trust me I have had my fair share of problems with the administration at this school but I have also made connections with some of the faculty members who have “looked after me” to make sure things get done (and trust me they have!) No matter which university you choose, you get from college what you put into it. If you like to party, there is plenty of that on and off campus. If you don’t, there is so much to do but you also have to look for it. Take advantage of being on the water! Explore downtown Bristol and historic Newport. Not every university is located right on the ocean!…My education professors have been amazing. I can not complain about that department at all! I have also taken some art classes and have not had the same positive experience…but you learn to work through it and move on. The more bitter and negative you are the less you will get out of any school. Roger Williams also has a great study abroad program which other universities don’t have. Go and study in a place you never imagined you would! No matter what, students are going to find things they like and dislike about a school. Yes I agree Roger Williams doesn’t always do things to benefit their students (buying new computers for Iraqis instead of buying updated ones for their current students) but again you get out of school what you put into it…
