Incoming undergrads think really carefully before you consider applying here or to any conservatory. She found assignment writing service Australia last month. I had an undergrad experience at a liberal arts institution, and I feel that I received a much better and well-rounded education that helps to give me contexts in my music making than I would have at a conservatory. |
Major: Music - Performance (This Major's Salary over time)
This is a strange place to go for graduate school. If there is a particular teacher with whom you would like to study here, then go for it. In my personal experience, my teacher is top notch, and balances out the negative aspects of the school. It is a city school, which is nice if you don't miss flowers, brick buildings, rolling hills, and ivy, but you can get all of that by taking a train to Cambridge. The dorms suck, but their access to the buldings is quite convenient. Incoming undergrads…think really carefully before you consider applying here or to any conservatory. I had an undergrad experience at a liberal arts institution, and I feel that I received a much better and well rounded education that helps to give me contexts in my music making (political, literary, historical, artistic, linguistic) than I would have at a conservatory. NEC can consume you if you aren't careful. I encourage you to look at liberal arts schools in addition to conservatories and make the comparison. If you truly want to just practice your instrument 6 hours a day and commune with others who do the same, then this is the place to be. If you are just as passionate about languages, math, art, or even football as you are about music, please please PLEASE research liberal arts schools as well!
