Blue Mountain College is a great place to further your education if you like a small, Christian atmosphere. Because we are small, we are not able to offer big programs like large universities; our majors are limited, but that doesn't mean that we can't do great things with our majors. Blue Mountain College holds a high reputation for its two biggest departments: Education and Bible. We began as a female college, but, in 1955, admitted men who were going into the ministry. As of this year, we are now a co-ed college. Everybody knows everybody, so we feel like one big family, although sometimes we don't love each other that much. Faculty and staff members know most students by name, not their number. BMC has an atmosphere that allows you to grow as a Christian with no fear of persecution. There are many opportunities to lead and you find yourself becoming the leader that you never knew you could be. We have a lot of history here so we value traditions. If you're looking for the thrills and frills of a big school, along with frat parties, tailgating, and beer-chugging, then keep looking. We have lots of fun here, but we create our own sense of clean fun without the booze.
