Westconn isnt a horrible school. I transferred into westconn after my other school didnt work out. It was my last resort, and it really saved me. I never applied to westconn in the 1st place because, well, it has a reputation for being below average. I vowed that I would NEVER go there, but I had to classes for a few months. Some of my teachers were great. There are some amazing Prof's. at wcsu that I will always remember. None of them were really TERRIBLE. In terms of educational quality, you get what you put into it. If you work really hard and say, join the honors program, you will be challenged and do well. If you do what MOST westconn students do (which is play bowling on their cell phones during class and leave 30 min early) you wont.social life is lacking to say the least. I was a commuter student, so I didn't make a single friend. I have been told by others that everyone goes home on weekends and not much happens. If you like keg parties, big, dumb jocks and annoying, ditty girls, westconn is your place. In terms of friendliness, nobody was ever really MEAN to me, but it isnt an overly friendly place to be. Nobody really goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Basically, if you are an average or below average student who wants to go to college just to have a degree and be able to have parties all the time, go to westconn. If you dont want to challenge yourself, go to westconn. The one thing I would really complain about is the student body. There are a handful of bright, driven, intellectual people, but they are the exception rather than the rule. People talk on their cell phones in the library and in class. Its hard to really stay driven at westconn. I was driven only because I am transferring and I needed good grades to get out. all in all, westconn really isnt that bad. If you want to work hard, you can. There are some great teachers there as well. Its all what you make of it.
