I'm not sure why people are giving Pitt such a bad rep. It's a pretty decent school. The faculties are friendly and approachable. It is true that Pittsburgh doesn't have a whole lot to offer in term of social scenes, but it's getting better. You are who you choose to hang around with. Pick a group of friend who focus on school/study or join a frat house and enjoy your 5-10 years undergrad study.
