First, Admissions is very misleading. Coming to ERAU as a transfer student i was told that my credits would be accepted and applied towards my education at ERAU. Come to find out, they are transferable but i still have to take those classes again. So i get to graduate with "extra" credits. It is also very difficult to get any information or help from the administration and faculty. And lastly, the tuition is disgusting for the way you are treated as a student. you are stripped of any individuality that you may have had when arrived here and any opinions or complaints, tell them to you hand, it will do more good then to a person of on ERAU faculty. To end on a good note, i am very impressed with my Flight Instructor and his knowledge and skill. I feel as far as the flight program went i was getting my moneys worth, it is the rest of the school that sucks.

response"Embry-Riddle evaluates previous academic credit on a course-by-course basis. Acceptable transfer work will be indicated on the Embry-Riddle transcript. If classes are not applicable to the student’s degree program at Embry-Riddle, they will be considered as electives in excess of minimum degree requirements." Etc etc says the ER catalog. Sounds to me like you were simply the victim of bureaucracy. It happened to me too, at a different school I tried transferring to. My english and math classes didn't have the same credit hour types (original school was 3 credits and the new school used 4). The classes were essential identical, but due to slight variations in the systems, they forced me to take them over again.

Were your classes general education courses or technical stuff? They make it pretty obvious that if you want to transfer you should take only gen ed stuff cause they have very specific technical courses that they REQUIRE you take there. If it was gen ed stuff, what classes did you take and what new classes did they want you to take?

I'm thinking of transferring to Embry-Riddle (the other school didn't work out so I ended up back where I started). Any advice other than simply

don't go, this school sucks
would be greatly appreciated. For starters, I'm a girl, and the 6:1 guy:girl ratio doesn't bother me at all. I've picked out 4-5 clubs that sound interesting so I'm not worried about social life at all. My greatest concern is about having the gen ed stuff out of the way when I get there. If it all, or all but a couple courses transfer over, I can graduate in 3 years. But if it's simply a matter of they want you to take EVERYTHING there as a ploy to get more money, then that will be a problem.
Please let me know. Anything you have to say will be helpful. Nice, angry, condescending, or whatever tone in fine. And thanks in advanced.
