I have lived in CT all of my life, except for the last 2 years I have lived in Texas. College was my way to escape back to New England. Connecticut is beautiful and for the most part has great weather in all seasons. Connecticut College uses the natural beauty of New England. Has a huge green from which you can see Long Island Sound. The school has a very traditional feel. For such a small school, you have many options for areas of study and courses with great professors. If you are not from New England you might be slightly overwhelmed by the preppiness of the student body, but not everyone is like that and you are bound to find a group of friends like the good ones you left behind. The students are very into academics and students understand and accept that the reason you can't come out and party is because you have to work. Thursdays and Saturdays are the big party nights here, and students do not hold back. Connecticut College is a wet campus, so compared to many schools kegs are allowed on campus. There are usually 2 kegs occuring on Thursday nights and usually 3-4 on saturdays. Some are sponsored by sports teams and others by random people. Most are quite easy to get into and others you need to know the right people. For those who don't want to drink there are TNE's (Thursday Night Events) which don't involve alchohol. They are normally funny themed dances. Once all the kegs are kicked, is pushing past midnight, and kids are sufficiently smashed, Cro (the student center) is the place to be. Quite funny and awkard interactions always happen there.

Overall, this is an amazing school. Socially and academically it has it all.
