Ramapo is an ok school. However it is clear that some are not here to work but to party. Having fun is essential but there are alot of people who feel that they are too cool for school. The biggest criticism for the administration is the new CEP program. It is funny that Ramapo is New Jersey's liberal arts college however CEP is making the school more corporate and narrowminded. I may be old fashioned but going to a liberal arts college meant that one should be well rounded and not to be a robot. The biggest bad news I think in the history of Ramapo is the business accredidation. This makes business more professional and more strict with only taking business courses. That is NOT liberal arts!!! The idea of liberal arts education is to be prepared in life and not to be prepared in a job. As Greek philosphers once said the brain has no fences, Thus there are no departments in the human mind. I think everybody should at Ramapo should have four courses of math, three courses of science and philosphy, politics, music and literature at least! Look at St John's College:

Another which is not necessarily the school's fault but I feel that the student body is politically polarized. It is pretty weird because I feel people are reading different things! Another is that Ramapo is the most apathetic campus ever! Clubs are not many and very week. Intramurals are dominated by jocks. If you want to copy an ideal liberal arts college 100% of the student body should play organized sports or join a club! However it is sad that Ramapo is just another factory of degrees. It is unbelievable how many times I hear that students complain that high school thaught them more then Ramapo!

Some positives are the big dorms and stunning location. Unfortunately Ramapo is not an academic school at all! I should not have gotten sucked in by the PR the admissions office. However I am not against Ramapo and encourage others to apply but beware of political polarization, apathy, laziness, immaturarity, and academically unchallenging. Ramapo was a good school however anybody who is a liberal arts expert knows that when the business department is going to be accredidated it has become more departmental and less well rounded. I hope that Ramapo students realize the sense of corporate and professionally oreintated Ramapo has become the opposite of liberal arts!
