The good:

The faculty members in the politics department are brilliant, friendly, and generally wonderful individuals. And obviously DC is the best place to be if you're in politics.

The bad:

Have you ever seen Back to the Future? Do you remember Bif? Yeah. There's the Catholic University student body, with the exception of people in the honors program.

The dorm complex "south side" is separated from the campus and is pretty much a slum. The bathroom doors have been kicked in a few times, the sinks leak and instead of fixing them there's a bucket they place under to catch the leaks. There's also no ventilation, so the bathrooms smell like feces all day, every day.

Lower-level employees (post office staff, food service) are the most unpleasant and combative human beings EVER.

It's in the ghetto. Not a "low-income district" or any of those liberal codewords. It's a ghetto. People get shot/stabbed and students get beaten badly on a pretty regular basis.

Don't let the admissions propaganda fool you. It fooled me. I'm transferring for next fall to another DC area college—but I'll never get this wasted 9 months back, or the $10k it cost me.
