Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
The best thing about OU is that the classes are small so students get AS MUCH INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION as they want and need. The teachers I have are good to excellent. If there is a complaint the Deans are accessible and ready to work out a resolution. The school has good credentials in the job market. Some schools have HUGE classes, low professor-student individual attention, low academic priorities, and HIGH party atmosphere. OU combines party-social AND academic focus with small classes to give a moderate balanced environment. I could go to UofM or MSU or WSU but OU is the best. OU cost of attendance is low which maximizes FAFSA, grants, loans. I live in an apt. in Rochester in North Oakland County, which is beautiful and has reasonable prices. It is an easy commute by car to everything you could want. Lots of malls, stores, restaurants, theatres, gyms, etc. OU has a great Rec Center and full GYM student use for free 24-7. Great free tutoring center. Good help by Financial Aid staff. OU has a LOT of help for students like a Disability and Career Center and the Alumni give various OU scholarships. There is limited on-campus housing. Many students have roommates in apartments close to campus. If you live on campus you don't need a car because you can walk everywhere you need. Students and faculty are friendly and OU is multi-cultural with a broad socio-economic base of students. I highly recommend OU. I am a nontraditional returning transfer student to OU. My major is medicine. I am going for an RN-BSN degree first. Then for a Nutrition degree, Psychology degree, Nurse Practitioner degree. I am an undergrad presently.
